Integrate Zapier with Churn Solution

What is Zapier?

Zapier is an automation platform that connects thousands of popular apps like Google Sheets, Slack, Todoist, Trello, HubSpot and Airtable, without writing any code.

The Churn Solution Zapier integration lets you trigger automations whenever a cancellation flow session is completed, and use the session data in any Zapier workflow (called a "Zap").

How to connect Zapier and Churn Solution:

Once you sign up for a Churn Solution account, you can connect Zapier through our Integrations Page.

  1. Go to the Integrations page in your Churn Solution dashboard and click Connect on Zapier.
  2. You'll be taken to the Churn Solution invite page on Zapier. Click Accept Invite & Build a Zap.

  1. Log in to your Zapier account, or create one if you don't have one yet.
  2. Click Create Zap.

  1. Search for Churn Solution and add Cancellation Flow Completed as the trigger.

  1. Connect the trigger to your Churn Solution account by signing in and authorizing Zapier.

  1. Add any action you'd like to run after a session is completed (for example, send a Slack message or add a row to Google Sheets).
  2. Click Publish to turn on your Zap.
  3. Go to the Test tab, open a cancellation session, and click Test to test the workflow.

How is Zapier used with Churn Solution?

Trigger: Cancellation Flow Completed

Every time a customer finishes a session in any of your cancellation flows, Churn Solution sends the session data to Zapier instantly. You can then connect this trigger to any action in any app Zapier supports, for example:

  • Send a Slack notification to your team
  • Add a new row to a Google Sheet for every cancellation reason
  • Create a task in Trello or Asana for your success team to follow up
  • Update a contact or deal in your CRM
  • Send a personalized follow-up email to customers who cancelled

Each session includes the following data, which you can map into any field in your Zap actions.

Session

  • Session ID
  • Session Status
  • Is Saved (whether the customer stayed subscribed)
  • Session Created Date

Customer

  • Customer ID
  • Customer Name
  • Customer Email
  • Customer Created Date

Subscription

  • Subscription ID
  • Subscription Status
  • Subscription Start Date
  • Current Period Start
  • Current Period End
  • Trial Start
  • Trial End

Plan

  • Plan ID
  • Billing Interval and Interval Count
  • Currency
  • Price (Unit Amount)
  • Quantity
  • Plan Summary (e.g. $50.0/month)

Cancellation Flow

  • Flow ID
  • Flow Name
  • Flow Created Date
  • Flow Updated Date

Session Steps

Every step the customer went through, in order, including:

  • Step Type (Offer, Survey, Form)
  • Survey Answer (e.g. Budget)
  • Follow-up Question and Answer
  • Form Answer
  • Offer Presented (Pause, Coupon, Trial Extension, Switch Plan, Send to Page, Contact Support)
  • Offer Details (pause duration and resume date, coupon, new plan, contact email, etc.)
  • Offer Accepted (Yes / No)
  • Offer Summary

Example: Send a Slack notification when a session is completed

  1. In Zapier, click Create Zap.
  2. Search for Churn Solution and add Cancellation Flow Completed as the trigger.
  3. Connect the trigger to your Churn Solution account.
  4. Add Slack as the action app and choose Send Channel Message as the action event.
  5. Connect your Slack account and pick the channel (e.g. #churn-alerts).
  6. Build your message using the session data, for example:

Customer: {Customer Name} ({Customer Email})
Plan: {Plan Summary}
Reason: {Survey Answer}
Saved: {Is Saved}
Flow: {Flow Name}
            
  1. Click Publish to turn on your Zap.
  2. Go to the Test tab, open a cancellation session, and click Test to send a sample Slack message.

From now on, your team will get a Slack message every time a customer completes a cancellation flow.
